Chinese Cheongsam Doll Dress and Shoes Fits American Girl 18″ Dolls

This traditional Chinese style Qipao dress is made in pink cherry blossom brocade, with pink frog closure and side zipper. Includes matching velvet shoes. This Qipao was designed by Carpatina to fit 18″ American Girl and other soft-torso 18 dress-up dolls, including Kingstates Friendship Girls and the Springfield Collection. Often referred to (in English) as the cheongsam (which is really a traditional outfit for males) or mandarin gown, the Qipao is a body-hugging one-piece dress for women. In the 17th century, Manchurian conquerors (Qing Dynasty) who invaded the Ming Dynasty created a law that outlawed the native Hanfu clothing and replaced them with the Qipao.
